Our next jumble sale will be Sat 10th October 2026. It will be open to the public from 13:00 to 15:00, entry £1, at Beare Green Village Hall, Merebank, RH5 4RD. Donations in the morning please 09:00 to 11:00; no furniture thanks, no hardback books, no CDs, no DVDs, and no electrical items thanks.
(We have two a year, one in Spring one in Autumn)
The Beare Green Christmas Fair in the hall RH54RD will run from 12 to 3:30pm on Saturday 28th November 2026, with Santa retiring from duty at 3pm. Admission will again be free. There will be gift and charity stalls, a raffle, hot drinks, children's activities run by Beare Green Community Association, and a Santa's Grotto - children received a gift from Santa and his elves in our magical grotto (see photo).
On Saturday 12th December from 14:00 to 16:00, BGCA is holding a free Christmas tea at the village hall, with sandwiches, tea/coffee, and cakes. Come along and get to know others, or chat to old friends !

You will find the village defibrillator on the side of the village hall near the bench, closest to Merebank road. Anyone can very easily use this public defibrillator. No training is expected or needed. You’ll be helped (it, and the 999 operator, can both talk to you). It is NOT for ambulance crews - they have their own !! - it is for you, the public, to save a life. Dial 999 for the entry code to unlock the cover and start using it.
Outside of an emergency, search "defib trainer" or "AED trainer" in your phone's app store for an app that helps know how to use it. But don't do that in an actual emergency, call 999 and begin.
Keep the "keep clear" marked space clear at all times for an ambulance, or a car bringing someone needing the defib, which may be needed there at any time. Every single second counts in a heart attack, there won't be time to find the owner of a car and wait for them to move it.
