Cinema - Merebank Movies

Beare Green Community Association (BGCA)'s Community Cinema “Merebank Movies” shows a film on the first Saturday of each month. Doors open 7:00, the film starts 7:30, and there is a short interval half way through. Refreshments are available.

£5 entry for all. No need to book, nor any means to do so - we have never had to turn anyone away as we have 80 seats. Showings :

The films for September 2025 onwards will be published here as soon as our agent confirms the dates to us (they will then also show at https://www.moviola.org/venues/beare-green/ ) . Note that the last film of the year will be Saturday 29th November, out of the usual pattern of the first Saturday of the month, because Saturday 6th December is both the Christmas Fair 12-4, and then in the evening, the amazing Milestone band.

You will find the village defibrillator on the side of the village hall near the bench, closest to Merebank road. Anyone can very easily use this public defibrillator. No training is expected or needed. You’ll be helped (it, and the 999 operator, can both talk to you). It is NOT for ambulance crews - they have their own !! - it is for you, the public, to save a life. Dial 999 for the entry code to unlock the cover and start using it.

Outside of an emergency, search "defib trainer" or "AED trainer" in your phone's app store for an app that helps know how to use it. But don't do that in an actual emergency, call 999 and begin.

Keep the "keep clear" marked space clear at all times for an ambulance, or a car bringing someone needing the defib, which may be needed there at any time. Every single second counts in a heart attack, there won't be time to find the owner of a car and wait for them to move it.
